Master's Degree in Psychology

The Graduate Program in Psychology – Professional Master’s Degree (PPGPsi) at UNISC was the first program of its kind in Southern Brazil and the first graduate program in Psychology to receive a grade of 4 in its initial evaluation in 2020. With a distinctive and innovative proposal, the program aims to qualify professionals from different fields for the development of new technologies in the field of Psychology.

Training at the professional master’s level in Psychology enables researchers to propose creative ways to solve problems and address challenges in different work contexts. For this purpose, the Professional Master’s Degree emphasizes studies and techniques aimed at high-level professional qualification, in addition to preparing students for teaching.

Graduates will acquire the skills and competencies required to design and develop practices in the areas of prevention, promotion, and intervention in mental health, as well as their interfaces with the social, political, organizational, and institutional fields.

PPGPsi students, through intervention and research projects focused on regional realities and on the demands of services, institutions, and organizations, will contribute to improving professional practices and strengthening community engagement within the Program’s AREA OF CONCENTRATION: “MENTAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL PRACTICES”.
