In this way, the course aims at developing students’ skills and abilities regarding a solid cultural background, which gives them enough skills to develop greater capacity for analysis and understanding of complex phenomena. Other skills students can develop during their studies may include: leadership, persuasion and strategic behavior and communication skills through the mastery of foreign languages.

It is part of the internationalists’ training acquiring knowledge about the differences between the path countries took in order to become developed countries and their historical, political, institutional, economic and technological constraints, which may reflect in the national public and private organizations and in the transformation of the international markets. Owning these skills makes it possible to internationalists establishing and maintaining relations with foreign organizations, knowing, perfectly, the main agreements, treaties and international organizations. Having this perspective as a starting point, the international affairs professionals are able to understand processes linked to the formation of trade blocs, cooperation between countries and relationships within them, enabling professionals to advise corporations, governments and entities in international negotiations between government agencies or in diplomatic corps, including the ones developed between organizations. Thus, their performance stands out when it is necessary to take decisions involving countries and different cultures.
