The bachelor´s degree in Law offered at UNISC owns a very strong history of quality in training professionals who currently work in several activities, institutions and fields. This ongoing search press aims at having well founded legal studies, continuous knowledge update and the professionals’ humanistic character.

The course relies on a teaching staff that includes researchers and law professionals who support theory and techniques, practice and research, experience and innovation.

The course aims at training not only lawyers, judges or prosecutors, but professionals who fit in the dynamics of modern society and can contribute to the evolution of Law. Along with their studies, students will have access to the core of legal practices through community services provided by free legal assistance given at UNISC and, at the end of the course, students can develop legal researches that will help them to become professionals with an overview of society, especially in its human character. A high working knowledge of legal aspects, dynamism and ethics are the main features that build the profile of the Law degree offered at UNISC, which also offers advantages such as:

  • Several after class internship opportunities including covenants with OAB/RS (Brazilian Bar Association), Rio Grande do Sul, State Court of Justice, State and Federal Public Ministries, Police Stations, Guardianship Council, Office of the Civil Registry, Federal Court, Public Defender's Office, Regional Labor Courts, INSS (National Institute of Social Security), National Treasury Attorney's Office, Notary Services, besides countless municipalities.
  • Opportunities to develop studies through several continuing education options in the legal field like Specialization Studies (classroom or distance learning), Master's degree and Doctorate in law focusing in Social Rights and Public Policies.
  • One of the most qualified teaching staffs of the state, where over 95% of the professors own a Doctoral and/or a Master’s degree.

Moreover, another aspect to be mentioned is the infrastructure of the course which offers the students access to the Legal Assistance Office – GAJ, Legal Researches and Studies Center – CEPEJUR and the project Balcão do Consumidor Itinerante, which is set to give legal assistance to the community.
